Jammie loved life and wasted few moments. He was a fireman in the Air Force, decorated for bravery for selflessly running into the wreckage of a plane crash and pulling out survivors.

After retiring from the military he moved his family to Northern Iowa where he worked as a farmhand for many years until he started his own business providing Combine harvesting services for the local community.

He was a musician, a golfer, a disc jockey, a licensed HAM radio operator, and a glider plane pilot. He dabbled in numerous hobbies and was a jack of many trades, using his talents to help others when ever possible. He loved Jesus Christ, and always had a Bible verse handy for any situation.
