Jeanene Krantz

January 10, 1935 — March 23, 2018

South Austin Location

Our mother, Jeanene Louise (Collett) Krantz, moved to her eternal address in heaven on March 23, 2018 at the age of 83.  She passed suddenly in her home in Austin, Texas.

Jeanene was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to Delbert (“Deb”) Collett and Rosamond (“Rosie”) Collett.  She had a younger brother, John.  All of them preceded her in death.

She graduated from Des Moines Technical High in Des Moines, Iowa.  In 1953 she married Ronald (“Ron”) Krantz with full awareness of their call to ministry together.

Over the years they moved to and ministered in Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Texas and Ohio.  During these years she was wife, mother, pastor’s wife, church musician, teacher to young adults and mentor to many.  Many will remember her as a hospitality specialist both for the church and in her home.  She is described by many as a sweet, kind and Godly woman.  Her love for children and support for mothers was shown to many in a variety of ways.

A major change point in her life was the serious, debilitating stroke suffered by husband Ron in 1991.  After months of hospitalization and rehabilitation they retired to Austin, Texas in 1994.  Ron passed in Austin in 2005.

It was in their Austin retirement home that Jeanene passed.  This fulfilled husband Ron’s desire for her to be able to remain in her home.  At the time of her death, her Bible was open to John 3.  It tells us of the importance of being born again to enter into the kingdom of God.  She would want us to all consider and respond to that truth.

Her children, Jeanine McKnight (husband, Randall), Janet Stonerock (husband, Michael) and Philip Krantz (wife, Valerie) along with grandchildren Megan McKnight Burns, Kevin Stonerock, Collin McKnight and Owen McKnight and their children (Kennedy, Lillyana, Nathaniel, Levi, Noelan and Luke) invite you to attend a memorial Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11am to be held at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 4322 Banister Lane, Austin, Texas 78745.  Pastor Lewis McCartney officiating.

The family respectfully requests no flowers.  We prefer that all cash donations be made in the name of Jeanene Krantz to her church:  Bethel Assembly of God, P.O. Box 150849, Austin, Texas  78715.
