Fannie Law

Fannie Mae Law was born June 30, 1935 in Forkland, Alabama to the late Abraham Grant Sr. and Ella (Weston) Grant. She departed this life on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the age of 85.
As an adult, Fannie moved to Canton, OH then relocated to Chicago, IL where she settled down to raise her family until finally moving to Texas in 2018.
She became a civil service worker in 1966, starting at the Internal Revenue Service then later switching to work at the United States Postal Service in 1967, where she retired in December 1998.
Fannie was a long-time member of Manuel Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL.
Fannie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. She enjoyed going to the senior citizen center where she played bingo and dominoes, and participated in various other activities. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. And she loved watching her game shows, especially Family Feud (LOL).
Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, William Law, Sr., former husband, Gene Longstreet Sr., and four brothers: Abraham Grant, Jr., Ezra Grant, Lee Roy Grant and Novel Grant.
Fannie leaves to cherish her memory four loving children: son, Robert Longstreet (Theresa Bays) and his children, Lettice, Danielle, Robert, Taris, Warren, Taneshia and Latoya; son, Gene (Ethel Lee) Longstreet Jr. and his children, Ambrose and Areon; daughter, Regina Longstreet and her children, Cean and Aja; and son, William (Karen) Law Jr.
Fannie is also survived by three sisters: Annie Bell Jackson, Henrietta Watson, and Ora Dee Cherry; one brother, Cleo (Laura) Grant; a devoted niece Laverne (Philippe) Victor; nephew Lonnie (Sabrina) Cherry; ten great grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A limited viewing will be held at All Faiths North on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. This is an opportunity for family and friends to view as there will be no viewing at the service .

Service attendees are encouraged to wear red in honor of Fannie Law.
