Charles Whatley

Charles Dwain Whatley, 67 of Red Rock, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Hero’s Haven Hospice unit of the VA Hospital in Temple, Texas with his sister at his side. Charlie was born on March 1, 1951, in Beaumont, Texas.  Charlie lived and worked for many years in Taylor, Texas.  In 2017 he moved to Red Rock, Texas.

In 1968 Charlie joined the Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Debra Kaye Whatley, parents Archie Edwin Whatley and Nelda Jean Whatley, his sister Nedsa Lee Bienek and his son Beau Willie Whatley. He is survived by his sister Linda Frazier and her husband Kenneth and a stepson Bradley Pedigo. He also leaves behind a niece Angela Renee Frazier, nephews Gregg Allen Frazier and Charles Robert Jones and many friends whose lives were touched by Charlie.

A Memorial Service and Interment will be at The Central Texas State Cemetery in Killeen, Texas at a date and time yet to be determined.

With deepest gratitude, the family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate and loving care Charlie received from the Heroes Haven unit at the VA in Temple.  In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Charlie's name to:
