Gerald Richard “G” McPherson of Austin, TX died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the age of 55.

Gerald was born to parents Richard McPherson and Harriett Cox on July 30, 1963 in Flint, MI.  He moved with his family to Shenandoah, VA in 1970 where he graduated from Shenandoah Valley Academy in New Market, VA in 1981.  Gerald received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA in 1986 and later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1990.

Gerald is survived by his son, Aaron McPherson and daughter, Alicia McPherson; mother, Harriett Bushong; step-mother, MaryEllen McPherson; sisters, Lillian McPherson and Andrea McPherson; and brothers, Kevin McPherson and Roderick McPherson.  He is preceded in death by his father, Richard McPherson and brothers, Rodney McPherson and Leroy McPherson.

Gerald was a devoted father and enjoyed golfing and hunting.  A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Grey Rock Golf Course in Austin, TX on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 pm.
