Norma Hoes

January 16, 1942 — May 31, 2018

South Austin Location

Norma Jean Hoes passed away peacefully on May 31, 2018 with her daughters by her side. Norma was born January 16, 1942 in Coupland, TX to E.H. Gensler and Martha Pruesse. She was later adopted by her stepfather William (Bill) Atcheson.

Mom had a love for all animals, especially stray cats that needed a home. She loved her three cats Chester, Clyde and Charlie. Mom also had a love for quilting. Her quilts reflected her amazing sense of color, hard work and love that she put in each quilt she made. She was able to complete quilts for each of her daughters and grandchildren before she passed which we will cherish always.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Hoes and great-grand baby, Gavin Gouldie.

Norma will be sadly missed by her half-sister, Elsa Bedynek of Houston; loving daughters, Debbie Davidson and husband, Doug; Angela Young; two grandchildren, Blake Davidson and wife, Tristan; Amy Gouldie and husband, Adam; two great grandchildren, Skylar Gouldie and Merritt Davidson.

She will also be missed by her dear neighbor Carolyn Lutz who showed such love and support to our family through the years.

The family would like to thank Hospice Austin (Purple Team), Christopher House and Barton Hills Assisted Living for their care and loving support. And a special thank you to our cousin Cynthia Morgan who watched ever so closely over our mother during this difficult journey.

Interment will be held at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park on Monday, June 4th at 10AM. Interment services are under the direction of All Faiths Funeral Services.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are her nephews; Jerry Hoes, Eugene Hoes Jr., George Neill, Timothy Hoes and great-nephew Mark Hoes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Gavinsgiftofgrace.org in memory of Gavin Gouldie, or Austin Pets Alive,1156 Cesar Chavez, Austin, TX 78703.
