Obituary

Joshua “Josh” Andrew Roberts, 32, of Round Rock, TX, passed away July, 22, 2020 at home. He was born in Baytown, TX and grew up in Round Rock, Cedar Park and Austin, TX. He graduated from McNeil High School in May, 2006. He was active in the band and enjoyed marching at football games. He met his wife Seana Leigh Davis as a freshman in high school. They were high school sweethearts, and married on February 13,2011.

He graduated from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, TX in May of 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He then, following in his Mother’s footsteps, became a Registered Nurse and started his first job at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, TX in July of 2010. After a year, he transferred to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock, TX, where he worked as a clinical coach, relief charge nurse, and was Secretary of the Unit Practice Council on 3MSU until his death. He was also a teaching assistant for the nursing program at Texas State University San Marcos at the Round Rock campus. He passed the ANCC Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Exam in April of 2018 to have his title changed to Joshua Roberts BSN RN-BC.

He received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses 6 times. This is an award that sets nurses apart from their peers. Patients submit nominations to honor nurses who make an outstanding effort to provide extraordinary care. He had a gentle, kind, and caring manner that set his patients at ease.

He played soccer as a child and learned to SCUBA dive in high school. He experienced joy from video gaming, travel, photography, astronomy, music and cooking. His father, a chef, inspired his interest in the culinary arts. He enjoyed trying new foods and new restaurants. He loved his dog Lyra.

He is survived by his wife, Seana Roberts of Round Rock, TX; parents Tammy Roberts and the late Alan W. Roberts; in-laws Suzanne Davis and husband Don; brother Charles A. Roberts and wife Lauren; grandparents Lois Roberts, Sarah Whatley, Bob and Joyce Gorrell; uncle Steve Roberts and wife Jerri; aunts Sherry Bell and husband Roger, Sandy Adcock and husband Terry, Michele Northrup and husband Shawn; cousins Jennifer Roberts, husband Ruben, and children Tristan and Landon, Sherri Anthony, husband Shawn, and children Corbin and Nathan, Amanda Walt ,husband Matthew, and children Olivia and Brooklyn, Kasi Bevel, husband Ryan and son Cody, Amy Conner and husband Robert, Tara Girouard and husband Kevin, Nicholas and Ryan Northrup; and nephew Wade Roberts. He is also survived by numerous extended family members in Alaska, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

 He was preceded in death by grandfathers Charles L. “Bill” Roberts and Charlie Whatley.
