Rhea Leigh Forester, (born Margaret Virginia Culley), of Seguin Texas passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 in San Antonio four days short of her 79th birthday. Rhea was born January 13, 1941 in Austin, Texas to her parents, Milton Hutton Culley Sr. and Margaret Willis (Sowell) Culley. She lived in a variety of places growing up as the daughter of a US Navy officer, including a tour living in Khaosiung, Taiwan. Upon leaving Taiwan the family returned to Austin, where Rhea finished high school at McCallum High in the class of 1959, and then enrolled in the University of Texas where she was also a member of a sorority. She met and married Roger Bieberdorf, to whom she was married for a number of years. They had one son, Brett, who currently resides in Arizona. She lived variously in Texas, California, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, and New Mexico.
Rhea was a free spirit. She had a deep love and compassion for cats, and assumed the responsibility for caring for a multitude of cats, devoting her time, energy, and resources to insuring that they were fed and cared for. She was also devoted to her human friends and family, providing life coaching to many.
While in Seguin, she was employed at Walmart for a number of years, where she touched the lives of many of the numerous employees and customers. Rhea was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Milton Culley, Jr. and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her son Brett, one brother, Ernie Culley, of Vancouver, Canada, four nephews and numerous cousins.
Donations in Rhea's name may be made to any animal rescue organization of your choice, preferably one that helps cats.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on February 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church on 1121 E. Walnut St in Seguin, TX. A reception in Rhea’s honor will follow.
